Ultrasonic Cutting Systems

Taihei offers a full line of cutting system components, kits and cutting horns, offering superior performance in terms of speed, safety, sanitation, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. When used for guillotine cutting or continuous slitting, our high frequency vibrating horns cut faster and cleaner than conventional motionless cutters.

The ultrasonic cutting horn, which is vibrating at a high frequency, creates a nearly friction-free environment between the horn and the product. Because the horn is vibrating at such a high frequency, it disrupts the air molecules around it causing a cocoon effect. This cocoon effect virtually eliminates product sticking and with reduced friction, the ultrasonic horn stays sharper longer than conventional cutters.

Advanced Ultrasonic Systems for Food Cutting Applications​

A complete line of specialized equipment and components for ultrasonic food cutting is available. Compared to conventional cutters, ultrasonic food cutters are more sanitary, with less down time, better cost-effectiveness and increased consistency at the cutting surface where the blades stay sharp longer.

Cutting tools are manufactured in-house by a precision wire EDM process that reduces stress for longer life. Sonics provides full customization of OEM components, kits and knife horns. Typical applications include cheese cutting; cake and dessert product cutting; confectionary product cutting; meat cutting; sandwich and wrap cutting.

Ultrasonic Film Sealing Systems for Flexibles


​A full line of ultrasonic sealing equipment and components for packaging applications is available such as tube sealing, pouch sealing, clamshell sealing, and automated applications such as cross seals, back seals, gusset seals, zipper crush and fitment welding.

Advanced Ultrasonic Systems for Textile and Nonwoven Applications

A complete line of specialized equipment and components for textile applications is available such as continuous bonding or slitting; punching; plunge bonding; and hook and loop (Velcro) bonding. Using ultrasonics for these processes provides superior performance in terms of speed, safety, cost-effectiveness and smoothness of finished edges.

Advanced Ultrasonic Systems for Tire Cutting Applications

Ultrasonic tire cutting provides superior cut integrity of the material versus any other mechanical means currently available. A supremely clean cut is achieved through ultrasonic vibrations so there is no sawing action, resulting in more uniformity and less stress on the material. The ultrasonic cutting process also provides advantages in regard to speed, safety, cost-effectiveness and smoothness of finished edges.
